The Wrong Way The Stripe Goes - Ep 3 | Fred Crisman

For this episode of The Wrong Way The Stripe Goes Chad and I's topic is Fred Crisman" Fred Lee Crisman (July 22, 1919 - Washington December 10, 1975) was an author from Tacoma, Washington known for claims of paranormal events and 20th century conspiracies.

In 1947, Crisman was involved in the Maury Island incident, an early UFO hoax. Crisman's "fellow UFO witness" Harold Dahl believed the 1960s TV series, The Invaders was based on Crisman's life.[1] Prior to this, Crisman had written to Amazing Stories magazine claiming that he battled "mysterious and evil" underground creatures to free himself from a cave in Burma during World War II.[1]

In 1969, Crisman was subpoenaed by Jim Garrison to testify in the case against Clay Shaw in the John F. Kennedy assassination.[1] A photocopied document later circulated among Kennedy assassination buffs claimed that Crisman was one of the "three tramps" allegedly employed by a secret government agency.[2] During this time, he hosted a radio talk show under the pseudonym "Jon Gold" and wrote a book, The Murder of a City, Tacoma published in 1970 through Transistor Publishing Company. The book was described by reviewer Michael Sullivan as a "weird, politically slanted rant" that manages to "tie corruption in Tacoma to everything from communist infiltrators to the Kennedy assassination"

The Wrong Way The Stripe Goes - Ep 2 The Jar Jar Binks of Podcast Episodes

Horribly late, and plagued with technical difficulties, Chad and I finally finished episode two. This was originally going to be an all Star Wars episode, and the first half of it still is. However, we got cut off before we finished, then we got tied up for about two weeks before we recorded the second half. Then that recording that got lost by YouTube somehow since we were doing it as a hangout on-air and it just failed to save the arcrive. So all of that we ended up having to re-record the second half about a month after we did the first half and by this point we were pretty tired of talking about Star Wars so just sorta went off on wild tangents for about 2 hours. So I edited that down and tacked it onto the first half which basically turned it into the Jar Jar Binks of podcast episodes. We also ended up just going back to Skype with voice only to lessen our chances of failure. Anyway, it still has its moments, so we hope you enjoy it! :)

Technical Difficulties but we'll be back soon

Well, Chad and I have recorded our next episode, which is a Star Wars special, but when we recorded our second half, Google Hang Outs had a major failure and just didn't archive any of our 2 hour conversation. We may just come back in an an only audio format. Expect something within a couple weeks.

Thanks for hanging in there!

Sorry for the long delay but we will return (at some point)

Hey all, sorry for the long delay in getting you a new episode. I've been focusing all my energies on a video series on YouTube called, The Manasota Project.

This is a series that documents myself putting together a band to perform some of my music coming out on 180g Vinyl this coming April.

Last summer I recorded some songs all by myself then started a kickstarter campaign to release the songs on 180g vinyl. Much to my surprise the kickstarter completed successfully! The album is being pressed and is set to be completed in April of 2016. Now is when the real challenge begins. How does a largely unknown artist sell 500 vinyl LPs in 2016? Good question.

I’m a 40-year-old guy who’s played in bands since I was 10, so the idea of putting together a band to play unrewarding shows at bars for no money to try to sell an album really didn’t sound like fun nor like a good idea.

So instead I’ve decided to get some musicians together to perform on YouTube. It’ll help promote the album, and be a lot of fun in the process. The Manasota project documents this process and is a window into the life of a musician who never gives up.

The Demonic Sweaters Podcast will return however, so don't you worry!
